Asynchronous Low-Grade Malignant B-cell MALT Lymphoma of Parotid Glands; A Case Report

چکیده
It has been reported that lymphoepithelial lesions (LEL), including Sjogren syndrome and benign lymphoepithelial lesions (BLEL), often change to low-grade malignant B-cell mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomas. In the patient described here BLEL changed to malignant lymphoma in both parotid glands over a 2-year interval. Surgical removal was performed because this malignant lymphoma generally resists to both chemotherapy and radiation therapies, and the prognosis is poor when the lymphoma extends outside the gland.

A Case of Primary Aggressive Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma of Parotid Gland
Primary lymphomas arising from the parotid gland are uncommon and usually account for only 0.6–5% of tumors or tumor-like lesions of the parotid, and therefore are commonly overlooked. Most cases involve the major salivary glands, primarily the parotid (50-93%) and the submandibular glands [1]. The misdiagnosis often leads to unnecessary diagnostic procedures thereby delaying the initiation of ...
متن کاملPrimary B-Cell Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma of the Hard Palate and Parotid Gland: Report of One Case and Review of the Literature
A 61-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with an ulcerated palate mass and swelling of the right parotid gland. Incisional biopsy from the hard palate revealed an extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma, also called mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. Final diagnosis was MALT lymphoma of the parotid gland with concomitant involvement of an extremely seldom site of involv...
متن کاملHigh Grade B- Cell Non- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Arising in a Mature Cystic Teratoma of the Ovary: A Case Report
Mature cystic teratoma (MCT) is the most common type of ovarian germ cell tumor occurring in females of reproductive age. It is typically benign, but rare malignant transformations have been reported in 1-2% of the cases. Among a wide variety of malignancies arising in MCTs, high grade lymphomas are the least common. We present a case of a 45- years -old female with a unilateral adnexal ma...
متن کاملPrimary parotid gland lymphoma: a case report
INTRODUCTION Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphomas are the most common lymphomas of the salivary glands. The benign lymphoepithelial lesion is also a lymphoproliferative disease that develops in the parotid gland. In the present case report, we describe one case of benign lymphoepithelial lesion with a subsequent low transformation to grade mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma appea...
متن کاملFatal Blastoid Variant Mantle Cell Lymphoma in a Patient with Sjögren's Syndrome
Primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is an autoimmune disorder of the exocrine glands presenting with progressive ocular and oral dryness, parotid gland enlargement, and often with extraglandular manifestations. In this group of patients the risk of development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is 16-fold compared to healthy population, mainly of the MALT lymphoma type. This case reports a 52-year-old woma...
